Eva Bloom is an inclusive, pleasure-centered sex educator, and Le Wand’s resident sex researcher. She obtained a Masters of Science from an interdisciplinary social sciences program where she focused her studies on social psychology and sexuality. With her Master's research drawing from Elle Canada Magazine’s 2016 sex survey, she explored sexting behavior, sexual health, and pleasure among young women. Her research interests also include sex education, self-compassion, and bisexuality.
In addition to her research training, she has also completed an intensive sex therapy training program through the University of Guelph. She has presented her work at conferences across Canada including with The Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality, the Canadian Sex Research Forum, and at the Guelph Sexuality Conference. She is a recipient of an award for excellence in sexuality education from Planned Parenthood Toronto in 2017.
Eva has been bridging the gap between academia and those wanting to harness their pleasure for over three years. She has worked with prestigious research institutions across Canada, including the Women’s College Hospital and the University of British Columbia, to empower women and destigmatize sexuality in the areas of low sexual desire and HIV through engaging digital media. She is also a co-host and consultant for the sex education web series “Sex Ed School”, produced by Shaftesbury. She also empowers young people to understand sexuality and cultivate pleasure through her own web series “What’s My Body Doing”, and bi-weekly sex research newsletter.
